Our Source

When we recognize God as our source, we trust Him for everything we need, knowing all power and provision come from Him.

“Yours, LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and on the earth; Yours is the dominion … Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all.”—1 Chronicles 29:11–12 NASB

Nearing the end of his life, David realized just how blessed he had been. Standing before his nation, he could have boasted about his achievements and victories. But instead, he was overwhelmed by God’s abundant blessings.

Looking back, David saw that God always had been sovereign. He acknowledged that “wealth and honor come from You alone, for You rule over everything” (v. 12 NLT). Through his trials and challenges, David knew how easy it was to worry during times of uncertainty, but he had learned to depend on God rather than on people or the things around him. He recognized that we can’t accomplish anything without God’s blessing and that everything we need already belongs to Him (v. 16).

These principles were true at every stage of David’s life. God always was with him: when he was a mere shepherd boy; when he faced Goliath and the Philistine armies; when he was forced to flee from King Saul; when he was overwhelmed with problems; and when he experienced success. David had learned that God rules over everything; all power and might are in His hands.

Today, no matter what you face, remember that God is with you. You can trust Him for everything you need. Call on Him. Seek Him for wisdom, protection, and the provisions of life. Place your faith in Him. Fill your life with praise and worship. Thank Him for His faithfulness!
