Rejoicing in Everything

There are many reasons to have doubt or feel discouraged. To be worried or afraid. But God told His people that He wanted them to approach life with an attitude of continual rejoicing!

This joy is a byproduct of having an intimate, personal relationship with Him. We can be joyful, because we know that He is with us. That we aren’t alone. We can be filled with His Spirit, which produces a fruit of joy (Galatians 5:22).

Because He is with us, we can trust in Him. We can bring our needs before Him, and cast our cares on Him (1 Peter 5:7). We can know that He is our shield and defender (Psalm 18:30). We can be confident that He will supply our needs (Philippians 4:19).

People around us may be worried or only half-hearted in their work. But, conscious of His presence, we can rejoice in everything we do, and do everything for Him.

We only can have this kind of expectant joy if we know Him so well that we can trust Him in every situation. With this attitude, we can approach life with enthusiasm and zeal. With a confidence that bubbles over, and impacts others.

As you think about your life, ask yourself if you are confident in your relationship with the Father. Do you really know that He is with you? Right now? He is with you in every situation you face. And He is there to comfort you. Protect you. Provide for you. Guide you. He is there so you can know that your life is in His hands. That there is no reason for you to worry or fear.

Today, renew your confidence in Him. Cultivate that personal relationship. And seek to serve Him with commitment and excellence. Filled with joy. Trusting Him. Living for Him.
