Subject to Jesus

For the Believer, the world can seem like a dark place. All around we witness attacks on our faith. People mock God and defy His Word. Some seek to remove Christianity from society. We see sicknesses and divisions, wars and uncertainty.

It seems that, much of the time, our enemies are winning, that all is lost. But the Bible urges us to look at life in a different way. To realize how God looks at the world.

In fact, the Bible tells us that everything, and everyone, is subject to Jesus right now. No matter how things appear, the reality is that the forces of darkness are not winning. Indeed they cannot win! In fact, they have already lost!

Satan must have thought that he had won a great victory when Jesus died on the cross. He had “put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot” to betray Jesus (John 13:2), and His followers had become scattered and discouraged (Acts 5:35-39). Yet God still was in control, and Jesus emerged triumphant, rising from the dead. The devil discovered he had been defeated.

As you think about the world, remember that all things are subject to Jesus, right now. Instead of feeling weak and discouraged, you can be bold and confident. You serve a risen Savior, and a God who is sovereign. This means that you really can trust Him, for every situation. For your friends and relatives. Your job and relationships. Your decisions and directions. Your health and finances.

Praise and thank God for the victory that has been won! Declare boldly that Jesus is your Lord. Have faith and trust Him. Let Him transform your life. And celebrate the victory that is yours in Christ! Right now!
