Rough Places Smooth

Making the Rough Places Smooth

If you’re dealing with some “rough places” in your life these days, I have good news: As another year comes to a close, God wants to raise up the valleys in your life, straighten the crooked places, and “make the rough places smooth” (Isaiah 40:4). He gives us this word of encouragement immediately after declaring an end to our previous battles:

“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned” (Isaiah 40:1-2).

You see, the Lord wants to set you free from anything that has been holding you down or holding you back. After all, you serve the very same God who made a pathway through the Red Sea, sent water through a rock and manna from the sky, and gave direction by a cloud during the day and pillar of fire by night!

Are you ready for the Holy Spirit to break Satan’s grip and visit you with new clarity, wisdom, and anointing? In Jesus’ name, I break the power of Satan’s lying schemes over your marriage, your children, your finances, or your body.

The same God who “changes the times and seasons” (Daniel 2:20-21) can also change the heart of your stubborn boss, contentious spouse, or rebellious teenager. In an instant, He can turn around your finances and restore your health.

The Lord can put an end to your pain, your endless toil, and your disappointments. He has a bright future for you, as He promises in His Word (Jeremiah 29:11).

But instead of being passive, you must aggressively lay hold of the destiny God has planned for you. He says, “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3).

God is ready to arise and scatter your enemies (Psalm 68:1)—but YOU need to rise up too. Rise up to worship the Lord and declare that He’s your Healer … Restorer …Provider … and Peace!
