Free Indeed!: How I Found True Freedom in Christ

Growing Up in a Godly Family with a Christian Legacy

I grew up in a family deeply rooted in faith. My grandfather, Morris Cerullo, was an international evangelist who preached the Gospel across the world, seeing countless people saved, healed, and trained for Christian service.

My parents taught me the Word of God and the power of prayer. In 1990, they launched Inspiration Ministries, a media ministry now reaching over 200 nations and territories daily with the Good News of Jesus.

Despite growing up in this environment, I struggled spiritually. As a teen in San Diego, I loved action sports—but I wasn’t passionate about God. When we moved to North Carolina, my rebellion intensified.

My Struggle with Addiction and Rebellion

What started as “a little bit of sin” quickly became a stronghold. I began smoking cigarettes, moved on to drugs and alcohol, and eventually found myself selling drugs.

My parents cried out to God for my freedom, but I spiraled further. My downward path climaxed in a hospital on the edge of death. The doctors believed I overdosed on cocaine, though I had only smoked pot and drank alcohol. My heart raced uncontrollably, and fear gripped me—I knew I wasn’t ready to meet God.

The Life-Changing Encounter That Set Me Free

In that darkest hour, God spoke clearly:

“I’m giving you a choice today. If you surrender your life to Me, you will live.”

I repented and surrendered fully—just me and God in the hospital room. No preacher, no sermon—only the Holy Spirit at work.

Through this encounter, I experienced true Christian deliverance and was set free from addiction. While counseling and programs help many, my deliverance came directly from a life-changing encounter with God.

Even my wife was surprised by my sudden transformation—especially when I spent a week locked in a room reading my Bible! But I was truly “free indeed,” walking daily in freedom in Christ.

Walking in Freedom: Living the Abundant Life in Jesus

Since that moment, God has sent me to 29 nations to preach the Gospel. I’ve seen people saved, healed, and delivered through His power. Blind eyes opened, deaf ears heard, tumors vanished, crooked spines straightened, and lame people walked.

If God can use someone like me, He can use anyone. The key is desperation for His presence and power. Without Him, we can do nothing (John 15:5), but with Him, we can do all things (Philippians 4:13).

How God Uses Transformed Lives for His Glory

God gave me a passion to see others experience the same freedom in Christ. I want to raise a spiritual army that impacts the world with His saving and healing power.
