Five Scriptures to Win Your Battle with Fear

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries3 Minutes

Two kinds of fear exist—healthy and unhealthy.

The first is God-given and helps protect you. The second, the spirit of fear, is from Satan and is designed to lace you in bondage.

That’s what Paul is talking about when he says:

God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Just as God sends His angels to minister to you, the devil also sends his fallen angels as demons. What God sends you offers life; what the devil sends offers death.

A Spiritual War

Your battle against fear is not a physical one—it’s spiritual. So what is your greatest weapon against fear? The Word of God!

Believe the Word when it says God has all power in Heaven and on earth. Don’t permit anxiety and fear to invade your body—which is in fact the temple of God.

Protected by the Word

Following are five Scriptures you should commit to memory. Let these words not only find a home in your heart, but use them to saturate your thoughts and spirit.

Knowing that the Lord is your only source of complete protection, repeat these until they are committed to your memory.

1. I will keep my mind on Christ
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee (Isaiah 26:3).

2. The Lord will give me strength
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).

3. God will not fail me
Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the only one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

4. God is my salvation
Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; for the LORD God is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation (Isaiah 12:2).

5. God is on my side
The LORD is for me; I will not fear; what can man do to me? (Psalm 118:6).

Armed for Battle

Now you’re armed for battle! Rejoice that you have won the victory in the battle against your soul by calling on the Word of God.

The next time you feel Satan attempting to launch his arrows of fear, boldly begin to speak the Word and watch him flee!
