Discover the Pearl

Inspiration Ministries has been reaching the world for Christ for more than 33 years! Can you believe it? What an incredible journey it has been … all because people like you, our Inspiration Partners, joined me in saying, “Yes, Lord!” Thank you for standing with us on the frontlines of evangelizing the world through media.

Did you know I never planned to be a preacher or even work in ministry? I was going to be a doctor and was cramming for college exams when I heard God ask, “What about My Kingdom, David?” After grappling with what the Spirit was leading me to do, I changed my major to business and joined my father in ministry after graduation.

Then one day in 1986, God broke my heart for the lost souls of the world. As I realized that every day, thousands of souls around the world were dying – condemned to suffer eternity in hell without God, grief filled my heart. I had no idea what God would lead me to do about it, but I knew my life’s passion had to be to reach the people Jesus treasures.

A few years later, when the assets of a small, Christian TV network landed in bankruptcy court, I stepped out in faith to purchase them. A viewing audience of only 3,000 households, a staff of five … and a monthly deficit of $100,000 … became the backdrop behind Inspiration Ministries’ birth. Today, Inspiration TV has a potential reach of 200 million homes, and with our International Prayer Center, social media ministry, INSPIRATION magazine, and website, we’re touching millions more. None of it would be possible without partners like you who’ve helped bring Jesus to the hopeless nations of the world!

Small Beginnings, Big Impact

Small beginnings are a great training ground. In those early years, my father often reminded me, “Don’t look at the bigness of your need; look to the bigness of your God.” This message is one Inspiration Ministries lives by and shares to this very day! Everyone – lost and believer alike – needs to look at the bigness of their God regularly. The Gospel message brings the lost to Him and serves as a catalyst to grow disciples. Salvation and discipleship are the twin pillars of Inspiration Ministries. Both rest on the greatness of our God!

Over these past thirty years, our purpose has always been to “cover the earth with the knowledge of God’s glory!” (Habakkuk 2:14). And we are still fully devoted to that vision, impacting people for Christ worldwide through media. We believe you, our partners in ministry, share the same devotion. That is why we are so excited to celebrate this 34th anniversary with you!

Pearl of Great Price

As we approach this milestone, I’ve been thinking about this special celebration and just why pearls are associated with the 30th anniversary. God then took my mind to a verse in Matthew where Jesus spoke of a pearl of great price.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it (Matthew 13:45 46).

We want the world to know that the most precious “pearl” to be found in this life is Jesus Christ Himself. He is worth all that we have – and more! His redeeming love is what everyone needs and longs for. Just as Paul declared to the Corinthians, we proclaim, “the love of Christ” to every nation of the world.

Just as Jesus willingly went to the cross because of His amazing love for us, we are driven to shine the light of the Gospel on the world through every technology available. Our desire to impact others for Christ drives everything we do and continues to create opportunities to link arms with yours as we share His light and build His Kingdom.

The pearl is special for another reason; it is unique in the gem world. While most gems are natural elements that are mined and refined, the pearl results from a life process. An irritation, often microscopic, is the genesis of a pearl. The oyster recognizes a foreign invasion and begins to wrap the intruder in a beautiful, mother-of-pearl coating. It is a self-protective defense that becomes a healing process … and ultimately produces a gem.

Everyone who comes to Jesus experiences a similar process. Every soul, every child is made in the image of God and suffers from the intrusion of sin. Every single one needs the life of Christ to heal and redeem them. Because of your faithful partnership, Inspiration Ministries is a tool God uses to wrap Jesus, the “mother of pearl” around each soul to produce a great treasure for our Lord and Savior.

Catching the Vision

I thank God YOU chose to be a partner in this ministry. And although we’ve accomplished a lot together, much remains to be done. In the past thirty years, millions of souls have been saved from hell, bodies have been healed, marriages have been restored, children have been rescued from deceit, and countless people have received financial breakthroughs. Yet, the world grows increasingly dark. The devil’s deceptions widen and deepen daily, stealing an increasing number of souls. Jesus’ words speak clearly to us:

We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work (John 9:4 NLT).

A passion to shine God’s light into the darkness of this increasingly depraved world fuels our work and ignites our faith. As Paul says in Romans:

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? (Romans 10:14 NLT).

Together, we are following Jesus’ command! The urgency of Christ’s words intensifies in this day, and the unchanging purpose, mission, and vision of Inspiration Ministries reflect
the growing needs:

• Purpose
Our passion is to be a part of covering the earth with the knowledge of God’s glory (Habakkuk 2:14).

• Mission
Our call is to impact people for Christ worldwide through media (Matthew 4:19).

• Vision
Our focus is eternity. We see the power of Christ working through us to bring others to Him. Our 10-year vision is to bring 50 million new souls to Christ within 10 different language groups.
