I’m writing to wish you a restful and relaxing Labor Day!
When Jesus said in Matthew 11:30, “My yoke is easy, and My burden is light,” He was introducing a new concept to a weary world. Just imagine what life was like when Jesus walked the earth. From sunrise to sunset, every able-bodied person worked hard at a trade or toiled with rough-hewn tools in the fields.
Very few were born to wealth and ease, but even the poorest servants who walked with Jesus felt their burden lifted by the King of Kings.
You can, too!
As you rest from your labors today, I hope you’ll remember that even with all the concerns you have, Jesus offers you freedom and peace. His burden is light. These momentary struggles will not last. And one day, in the blink of an eye, we will be with Him, walking in everlasting glory for eternity!
I am praying that our God will supply ALL your needs according to His glorious riches, and that you will find rest for your soul today as you rest from your labors.
“There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.” Hebrews 4:9
