Celebrate a Time of Harvest

Today we celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles – a part of the Jewish Fall festivals called “The Days of Awe.” This feast emphasizes the longing for God to dwell with His people. The “tabernacles” or “booths” that Jews build during this festival signify both how God was with them in the desert wandering of the Exodus, and how He is with us today.

This time is also known as “the Feast of Ingathering” because it is a celebration of the final harvest before the New Year. Many theologians believe that this feast, which begins with Rosh Hashanah, has not had its New Testament fulfillment. They believe it will be fulfilled when the Trumpet of God sounds and the Messiah returns.

The Bible speaks of two significant times where the shofar is sounded by God Himself. The first time on Mount Sinai when God entered into covenant with Israel. The second time will be at the return of the Messiah.

So the Feast of Tabernacles is a time for Christians and Jews to look to Heaven with anticipation for the return of Jesus – Yeshua – the Messiah, promised of God.

I pray you will experience the blessings of this season of joy as you celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles with expectation of Christ’s soon return.

God bless,
