Your Calling

Your calling is too important to ignore—God is looking for faithful, focused hearts willing to complete the assignment He’s given.

“Surely I will restrain you so that you cannot turn from one side to another till you have ended the days of your siege.”—Ezekiel 4:8 NKJV

God called Ezekiel to a task that was so important, He restrained Ezekiel until the work was accomplished. He didn’t want him to waver or be influenced by what other people said or did.

This is the kind of commitment God wants from us. Many people promise to follow Him and do His will but then fail to complete their mission or keep their promises. Some have good intentions but then become weary. Some forget, give up, become distracted or discouraged. Some simply decide to pursue other goals.

God is looking for people who hear His voice and obey Him! He’s searching for those who are sensitive to His will and eager to complete their assignment. He’s calling people to be fully committed to His Kingdom, remaining vigilant, and staying focused on the projects He’s given them.

Jesus taught the importance of commitment when He said, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God” (Luke 9:62). Paul wrote, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).

Renew your commitment to live for God and His Kingdom. You are unique in His sight, and He has special assignments just for you. Follow His leading and focus on fulfilling your calling. Don’t become distracted, discouraged, or give up. Persistently pursue your calling!
