Unending Praise

When are we to praise the Lord? It can be easy to praise Him when everything is going well. But the psalmist reminds us that we should praise Him all the time, no matter what is going on in our lives or the world. We should praise Him at the start of each day and continue until the very end. We should never stop praising Him! We should praise Him at every stage of our lives, “from this time on and forever.”

Why do we praise Him? We praise Him for there is no one like Him. We praise Him because He reigns over all the earth (v. 5-6). We praise Him because the evidence of His faithfulness is all around us.

We praise Him because He can turn around any situation. He can raise the poor from the dust and lift “the needy from the garbage heap.” He can give hope to those with no hope. He can encourage people whose dreams have been dashed and supply energy to those who feel tired and weary. He can provide direction to those who feel lost. He can perform miracles for those facing problems that seem unsolvable.

Think of the many reasons you have for being grateful. Don’t be silent but praise God. And thank Him. Make praise a priority, even during difficult circumstances. Praise Him morning, noon, and night! Praise Him for He is worthy!
