The Sure Fulfillment of Prophecy

As Daniel studied prophecy, he realized God told Jeremiah that in seventy weeks (symbolizing seventy years) the time would come “for the completion of the desolations of Jerusalem.” Was this even possible? For all practical purposes, the nation had been destroyed and the people scattered. Like Daniel, many were in exile in Babylon. Could God’s prophetic word prove to be true?

Daniel believed that God’s prophecies were true. So he began to seek God “by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes.” He confessed his sins and the sins of his people. He asked for wisdom, praying that God’s face would “shine on Your desolate sanctuary.” Suddenly, the angel Gabriel appeared to him. He had been sent to give Daniel “insight with understanding.” Secrets hidden from others were revealed to Daniel, because he believed God.

Many people look at Bible prophecy and assume it could never be fulfilled. But some, like Daniel, boldly believe that God’s Word really is true. If the Lord says something, it will happen. For those with ears to hear, God will unlock secrets hidden from those who lack faith.

Today, don’t allow doubt to keep you from God’s blessings. His Word is true. Every prophecy will be fulfilled. Like Daniel, seek God in faith and ask Him for a deeper understanding of His mysteries.
