“The Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14 NASB

For many, Christmas seems like the ultimate human event. Something that saturates every element of society. A time for laughter and family. Gifts and good will. Yet, for Believers, the birth of Jesus is an important reminder of the supernatural, filled with demonstrations of the power of God. Proof of His sovereignty over time and space.

We see this in the miracle of prophecy, as promises made hundreds of years earlier were fulfilled, proving that He can declare future events and fulfill them at the perfect time.

We see His supernatural power in His sovereign control of the universe. He not only created the stars but charts their course and speaks through their movements. And He can dispatch angels to convey His messages and accomplish His purposes.

We see demonstration of His sovereignty through the virgin birth, as He did what seemed impossible. Revealing how His plans and power go far beyond anything we can conceive or imagine.

And we see the totally unexpected way He can accomplish His purposes. Not doing things the way the world would anticipate but selecting the unlikely. Baffling kings while revealing mysteries to shepherds.

Jesus’ birth reminds us that, for God, nothing is impossible. He knows the future and can open doors that seem closed. He can send angels to destroy armies or sing His praises. He can shape any event to accomplish His purposes.

What is most amazing is that God loves us. He knows our specific needs, and has a plan for every life. Just as He sent us His Son two thousand years ago, He now sends the Holy Spirit to us, bringing light into our darkness. Bringing hope to the hopeless. Healing the brokenhearted and sick. Saving the lost. Directing our steps. Giving us fulfillment and joy as we serve Him.

Prayer: Father, I commit these situations to You: _______. Thank You that nothing is impossible with You. I believe You for miracles in my life! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
