Seeking More Than Stories of Faith

For believers seeking more than stories of faith, the example of Habakkuk’s prayer invites you to trust God to make His power real and active in your life today.

“O LORD, I have heard the report of you, and your work, O LORD, do I fear. In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy” (Habakkuk 3:2).

Habakkuk knew about the mighty deeds God had done—how He had spoken the world into existence, how He had delivered His people from Egypt and led them into the Promised Land, how He had given them unbelievable victories in battle and performed miracle after miracle.

But for Habakkuk, knowing these things wasn’t enough. He hungered to experience these truths for himself, to witness a mighty move of God’s power, to not just read about miracles, but to see them in his own life!

Christians today need this kind of revelation. While they may have read the Bible and heard about God’s deeds throughout history, many believers have never seen a display of God’s power. They may not really believe that God still heals or that He still speaks to His people. Some doubt God’s Word and His ability to supply their needs or bless them miraculously.

What is your attitude toward these things? Do you really believe that God’s Word still is true? Do you believe that anything is possible if you ask in Jesus’ name? (John 14:14).

Make the prayer of Habakkuk your own prayer. Cry out to God, and ask that His power would be real in your life, that you would experience miracles, and that you would be bold and step out in faith.

Don’t be content with just reading about God’s power—seek more of Him.
