Intimacy with Your Father

Intimacy with Your Father

It can be easy, even for Christians, to live with worry or fear. These emotions can be crippling. Our hearts can become overwhelmed with anxiety if there is turmoil or difficulty in the world. We can become gripped with fear when we face uncertain situations or don’t know what to do.

But the Bible teaches us that God wants us to escape everything associated with these emotions. God wants to remove this unhealthy fear and worry from our lives. How? By absolutely trusting in Him and having absolute confidence in Him.

We don’t have to give in to fear and worry but realize that we are His children and “joint heirs” with Christ. This means that we can have an intimate relationship with Him and can cry out, “Abba, Father.” Because He is our Father, we share in every aspect of His life and have access to all the riches of His Kingdom. And we can trust in Him completely.

We still may go through difficulties. But as Paul wrote, these problems cannot begin to compare “with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (v. 18).

Today, seek to have a more intimate relationship with God. Spend time with Him. Tell Him your deepest needs. Your concerns. Allow Him to speak to your heart and take away your fears and worries. You can be confident in Him. He is your Heavenly Father, and He cares for you.
