God’s Plan

God gave Ezekiel a powerful vision. He described how the Spirit of the Lord “set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones.” And the Spirit showed him how breath would enter these bones and they would come to life. All of this would happen so that “you will know that I am the Lord” (Ezekiel 37:1-28).

For years, there was much speculation about this passage. What did it mean? Were these just stories? Parables? Could this possibly be true?

In spite of this speculation, the Bible seemed clear. For God specifically stated that “these bones are the whole house of Israel.” Yet, for centuries, the nation of Israel had not existed. As a result, many argued that this prophecy could not literally be fulfilled.

But, in our time, the “impossible” has happened and today Israel actually is a nation. And there is renewed realization that God’s prophecies literally are true.

Today, God continues to fulfill His Word, in ways that can be surprising. Yet some continue to be skeptical. To doubt His Word. Others openly reject God and claim that the Bible is just a collection of stories. But, as He told Ezekiel, He promises that, some day, everyone “will know that I am the Lord.” He sovereignly will demonstrate that He is God.

If you believe the Bible, you know that this will happen. The only question is when.

The world may be filled with doubters and skeptics. Don’t be influenced by them. In your life, remember to trust in God, to believe His Word. Remember that some day, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess “that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11). Make sure that He is the Lord of your life.
