God’s Plan

God’s plan for your life is much better than you can imagine.

“‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’”—Jeremiah 29:11 NASB

On the surface, everything seemed dark and hopeless. God’s people had abandoned Him, disobeyed Him, and embraced a life of sin. As a result, judgment was coming. The people of Judah were about to go into exile. Everything was shaking.

But amid these uncertain times, God gave His people a powerful word of reassurance. He still had a plan for their lives! No matter how hopeless world conditions might appear, He had not planned “disaster” for them. They might go through uncertainties and difficulties, but His plan was for their welfare. He already had provided “a future and a hope” for them.

God wanted them to focus on His sovereignty and trust in Him. He had not abandoned them, and He promised to hear them when they cried out to Him.

But there was a condition: They must seek Him with their whole heart. Jeremiah could feel God’s concern for His people—how much He wanted to help, heal, protect, bless, and restore them. His thoughts were “of peace and not of evil” (NKJV).

Today, the world is still filled with shaking and uncertainty. Though none of us knows what will happen tomorrow, these words of comfort and assurance still are true.

God knows the future! His plans are sure, and He wants to prosper you and give you a hope and a future. Seek Him with your whole heart.
