God Is on Your Side

David experienced many difficulties. At times, torrents of problems swept over him, threatening to overwhelm him like a raging flood. He faced giants and hostile armies. Fleeing for his life, he had to seek refuge among people who had been his enemies. His family doubted and even rejected him at times. And the king whom he served faithfully turned against him and sought to kill him.

God allowed him to go through these situations. However, He always was with him. Without Him, David would have drowned in the waters and been torn apart by his adversaries. He would have been trapped just like a bird in the snare of the trapper. But because of God, the snare was broken, and he escaped (v. 7).

Sometimes when we experience problems, we can feel discouraged, defeated, or overwhelmed. Like David, we need to realize that we are not immune from problems just because we serve God. But in every situation, we can know that He always is with us. He will bring us through difficulties and give us the strength we need. He is our Help and Deliverer.

Remember that God is with you in every situation you face. Look to Him to bring you through, protect and shield you, guide and provide for you. Call on Him for the things you need. Trust Him. Be at peace. He is on your side.
