Glory and Beauty

Daily Devotional2 Minutes

We represent God to our generation. How are you displaying His glory and beauty in your everyday life?

“You shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty.”Exodus 28:2 NASB

The garments of priests were important to God. It was through these garments that others could tell these men were different—set apart to the Lord and called to serve Him. The clothes they wore symbolized their special relationship with God and testified of God Himself!

These clothes were to be “for glory and for beauty,” for they were meant to reflect His nature. When people saw the priests, they were reminded that they served the God who created all things, who is holy, who can do all things, and who can provide for all their needs.

These garments were also a reminder of God’s splendor, creativity, and concern for excellence. The special clothing helped set these men apart so that others could see they were different.

God established principles that are true for everyone who serves Him. All believers must remember that we represent God to our generation. Everything in our lives is important to Him and part of our testimony to the world. This includes the words we speak, the places we go, our appearance, and what we do with our time and money.

Today, remember that God has called you to be set apart and dedicated to Him. Everything in your life is to be holy, reflecting His glory and beauty. When people look at you, they should realize you are different—because you represent God! Seek to be a faithful servant, pleasing to Him.

Reflection Question: Do people see Jesus’ glory and beauty shining through you?

Prayer
Jesus, I dedicate myself to You. May others see You through how I speak, what I do, and even how I look. In Your name, amen.
