Faith for Great Things

Jesus reinforced many important truths during His last night with the disciples. He knew that they would experience challenges and difficulties, and had needs that seemed overwhelming. He knew that they might be discouraged, afraid, or uncertain.

They had seen Him perform miracles and knew they could depend on Him. But, they must have wondered, what would happen after He left? What were they going to do without Him?

Jesus gave them clear, specific directions. He said, “Have faith in me.” And He said that they should not lower their expectations. In fact, He told them, “You will do even greater things, now that I am going back to the Father.”

Just imagine! Greater things than Jesus did! No matter what the situation, He told them to be confident and bold: “Ask me, and I will do whatever you ask.”

Those same words apply to us today. Based on the words of the Bible, we can believe that great things are possible. That we need to believe and continue to believe.

Do you have physical needs? Do you have problems over which you cannot seem to get victory? Do you need a miracle? Do you know someone who needs salvation? Do you know of family problems?

You may have asked before but don’t give up. Commit these people and situations to God, and seek Him anew. Take Jesus at His Word! Believe that “you will do even greater things.” Ask Him today, that He can bring honor to the Father, and meet your needs!
