God’s Answer

Some had questions about what to do. Others might have wanted God to give them a specific revelation about their current situation. But Jeremiah reminded them of truths God already had spoken. As a starting point, they needed to apply His revealed Word.

These same principles are true for us. As we face problems, we might want Him to give us new revelation. But the Bible continually reminds us that, in many cases, He already has revealed His will—through His Word. So, the first step in seeking God’s help is knowing His Word. And then applying what He already has said.

As we apply His principles, and live in obedience to His Word, we align our lives with His will, and establish firm foundations that lead to blessings.

We cannot expect His blessings if we ignore His laws and commands, and refuse to do what is right. If we have made mistakes or committed sins, we must repent and change our ways. If we see a wrong, we are to do what we can to make things right.

The Bible also encourages us to be concerned for the people around us, and to be good stewards of the resources He has given us. We are to realize that God has blessed us that we might bless others, and impact other lives for His Kingdom.

Today, commit yourself to living according to His Word. Ask God to reveal any sin in your life and seek His forgiveness. Ask Him to help you do what is right at all times. And, use your time, talent, and treasure to help reach the lost with the Gospel.
