Creator

Every beginning needs to begin with God. For everything began with Him. And everything continues to begin with Him.

The Bible pictures God in many roles. But the first way we see Him is as Creator. The Bible unfolds countless ways He continues to demonstrate this creative nature.

The Hebrew word translated “created” suggests shaping and forming. The truth is that God creates. He is not limited by circumstances. He can change human hearts, and anything else.

Throughout the Bible, people kept trying to restrict Him. But God continued to demonstrate that He is not bound by their definitions. When people said there was no way, He made a way. When defeat seemed inevitable, He showed how to turn defeat into victory. When people saw no hope, He rescued them. When they faced what seemed impossible, He showed how anything was possible.

God told Isaiah, “Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19). We may see a wilderness ahead, but God can create roads on which we can travel.

We may feel that we are in a desert, but God can provide not just water but rivers that flow with abundance. He is not limited but can “do a new thing” at any time, and in any place.

As you think about the future, remember to focus on God. Remember that He is the Creator. He is not limited by circumstances or the options that seem logical to you. He told Isaiah, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways” (Isaiah 55:8). Think of Him with that same sense of limitlessness.

Commit every situation you face to Him. Believe in Him, no matter what you face. Have faith, for He is the Creator.
