Broadcast His Praise

Daily Devotional2 Minutes

God created us so that we would broadcast His praise.

“The people whom I formed for Myself will declare My praise.”Isaiah 43:21 NASB

Why do we exist? How do we find fulfillment? What is the purpose of our lives? The world answers these questions in many ways. But the right answers are found in this short verse.

First, God formed us. We easily can focus on our own interests, but everything changes when we realize that we were formed—we have a Creator. This means that everything in our lives should revolve around His design for us and why we were made.

Second, He formed us for Himself. Our very existence is wrapped up in His existence and purposes. He didn’t create us to be robots, mechanically following orders. Rather, He wants us to freely choose to seek Him and submit our lives to Him. We cannot experience true fulfillment apart from God, our Creator. We learn from Him how to live and fulfill our destiny.

Third, we were created to tell others about God. We are to number and recount His praises, remember all that He’s done for us, and tell others about Him in every possible way.

The New Jerusalem Bible translates this verse as, “The people I have shaped for myself will broadcast my praises.” This is what our lives are about—realizing that He has shaped us for Himself, and we are called and designed to broadcast His praises.

Do you want purpose, meaning, and fulfillment in your life? Seek to please and obey God. Live to glorify Him!
