An Unlimited Number

In his vision, John saw the Lamb who took a book no one else could open. Living creatures and elders fell down before Him, singing that He is worthy. Then, many angels, living creatures, and the elders joined in a time of great worship.

John was overwhelmed by the vastness of the throng. He used a Greek word murias, which means an unlimited number. It was a number so overwhelming that John used the word twice, writing murias murias. Then he wrote about “thousands of thousands.” He simply did not have the vocabulary to describe this vast number.

All of these people John pictured had gone through struggles, problems, concerns, and worries. But they realized that God is so much greater than anyone or anything in the world. And they knew that the Lamb is worthy!

When we praise God, we can picture ourselves adding our voice to this myriad of myriads. Someday, we will join this Heavenly throng, praising and worshiping God. When we face problems, we can look forward to the day when we will stand in His presence and all of life’s troubles will be past.

No matter what you are going through, you can praise God! Right now, praise Him and thank Him. Praise Jesus for He is worthy. Bow before Him. As you praise Him, everything else will seem insignificant. Enter into His presence. Thank Him! Worship Him!
