A Special Labour Day Message

How much “stuff” is enough? How many “things” do we really need?

We often worry so much about accumulating wealth and possessions that we start to believe they’re the most important things in life. That’s such a deception!

No matter how much we have, our possessions will never bring us true satisfaction. On this Labour Day, I pray fresh grace for you to set your sights on eternal things.

Instead of worrying about the things of this life, remember to rest in God and trust Him to meet all your needs (Philippians 4:19).

Our confidence doesn’t come from the things we possess…it comes from our Almighty God who provides for us daily!

If we seek first His Kingdom, then we can have full confidence that He will take care of us, just as He does the birds and flowers (Matthew 6:25-34).

The Bible describes how one man looked back at his life and thought about all he had accumulated, only to realize that all was “vanity and striving after wind” (Ecclesiastes 2:11).

He kept getting more things, yet found that they never gave him lasting joy or peace, but instead led to a sense of emptiness.

Today I pray that you would receive the peace of God that He so longs to give you. Let His grace propel you forward as you seek first His Kingdom.

Remember, nothing satisfies like the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. Know that He is with you today. And, that He will lead you to a place of peace and provision, if you just believe.
