A Lamp to Guide

Use God’s Word as a lamp to guide and transform lives. When you follow Jesus fully, His truth leads you in real, tested faith.

“For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light; and rebukes for discipline are the way of life.”—Proverbs 6:23 NASB

What inspires people to respond? To act? According to a recent study by the UK Internet Advertising Bureau, an important key is relevance. People are looking for practical actions that are tested and shown to work, not just theories.

We see this same principle in our spiritual lives. People want reality, demonstrations of real power, and a faith that is proven in real life. Instead of empty promises, they’re yearning for real peace, joy, meaning, and fulfillment. They’re looking for something that will transform their lives.

How do we experience a real faith? First, we must make a radical commitment to follow Jesus, be His disciples, and be filled with the Holy Spirit. We must commit to being people of prayer, who know God’s Word and put it into action.

God’s commandments in the Bible are a lamp that guides us. The more we know His Word, the more clearly He can lead us.

God guides us through “rebukes of discipline” when we sin or make wrong decisions. He promises to correct us and steer us back onto the right path.

Today, ask God to help you be more sensitive to His leading. Fill your mind with His Word and listen to the voice of His Spirit. Follow Jesus radically. His power is available, and He wants to use you to impact the lives of others. His Word is true; put it into action!
