“Though the fig tree should not blossom nor fruit be on the vines … yet I will rejoice in the LORD; I will take joy in the God of my salvation” (Habakkuk 3:17–18).

The Bible tells us we should rejoice all the time … in every circumstance. Every day, our lives are to be filled with praise, regardless of what’s happening! As Paul wrote, we are to “rejoice always” and “give thanks in all circumstances” (1 Thessalonians 5:16, 18).

What enables us to have this joyful attitude? Not focusing on our circumstances or on world conditions; not drawing strength from our own talents and resources, but depending upon the strength of the Lord; not trusting in governments or the media, politicians or businesses. Only God can sustain us and give us victory in every situation.

Although it can be easy to talk about this kind of life, God wants us to put it into practice! How? We start by praising Him! By rejoicing in Him! By committing everything to Him and looking to Him for the strength we need. When? Right now! And all the time.

Don’t worry about your circumstances, but focus on God. Express your confidence by praising and thanking Him! Remember all He’s done for you, His Word, and His promises.

Never give in to discouragement or doubt, but let the joy of the Lord be your strength (Nehemiah 8:10)! Let Him take away your burdens and give you victory. He can lift you above any circumstance and give you peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7).
