Entering God’s Finished Work

Daily Devotional2 Minutes

Discover how Entering God’s Finished Work leads to peace, freedom from worry, and confidence in God’s eternal plan.

“We who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, ‘As I swore in my wrath, they shall not enter my rest,’ although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.”—Hebrews 4:3

Questions race through our minds: What will we do today? What will we face tomorrow? The realities of daily life can consume our thoughts, emotions, and energies. We are overcome with anxiety, fear, doubt, stress, or tension.

But everything changes when we see the world from God’s perspective—when we realize that many of our problems result from our limited understanding. Yes, we are enmeshed in the realm of time, but God is different! He is beyond time!

The Bible tells us that His works actually are finished! And they weren’t finished yesterday or just a short time ago: They “were finished from the foundation of the world.”

If we grasp this truth, we can trust in God … absolutely! We can have faith in Him always. In every situation, we can seek Him for the answers.

This is a key to keeping our lives in perspective and finding success. We can be freed from our burdens and experience His peace and joy. We can focus on serving Him and completing the work for which He has called us, instead of getting caught up in the pressures and burdens of the world.

Commit everything in your life to God. Rather than focusing on problems or worries, remember that His work is complete. Don’t let burdens weigh you down. Enter His rest. Trust in Him. Let Him remove your fears and worries and give you His peace!

Reflection Question: What would it look like to fully rest in God’s finished work?
