Salvation

Why was Jesus born? Why did He leave His Heavenly throne and come into the world? We learn a vital key in the message the angel relayed to Joseph. He said Mary would have a son born of the Holy Spirit, and He was to be called “Jesus” for an important reason: He would “save His people from their sins.” Jesus was born to save us from the penalty for our sins and also from the power of sin over our lives.

Jesus came to bring complete salvation for body, soul, and spirit…for our mind and our emotions. His salvation came to those who live in darkness, under the power of Satan. It transforms our lives and gives us an opportunity to experience the fullness of God’s blessings. It frees us from guilt and worry and fills us with peace and joy. It allows us access to God’s wisdom and power, and it enables us to have victory in every situation.

This salvation is for young and old, rich and poor, Jews and Gentiles, and people of all races and all countries. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Acts 2:21).

His saving power is available now. No matter what problems we face or what needs we have, Jesus is our Salvation, our Hope, our Deliverer, our Light, and the Answer. We can seek Him anytime, day or night.

Today, commit your life and resources to telling the world about the Good News of His salvation. Don’t take this great salvation for granted, but call on Him for the needs you face. Remember to bring before the throne of God unsaved loved ones and others who need salvation! Jesus still saves!
