As He is Now, So Am I01:00:00 [START OF VIDEO]
01:00:01 MIKE SMALLEY: Welcome to Strengthen Your Walk! On behalf of David and Barbara Cerullo, thank you for joining me today. I’m Dr. Mike Smalley. I want you to grab a pen and get a piece of paper and write a Scripture down because today is, without a doubt, going to be a very bad day for the devil in your life. God’s gonna do something so breakthrough in your life, and this Scripture is gonna change everything for you: 1 John 4:15-17. I want to read it to you and I want to pray it over your life in just a minute so get ready for something to change in your life.
01:29:00 1 John 4:15 says, “Whoever, any of us, confesses”, there’s the power of our words; the power of our mouth, “that Jesus is the Son of God, whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him and he in God. And we have come to know and believed that the love which God has for us, for God is love. And the one who lives and abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
01:01:01 Watch this: “By this love is perfected with us so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment.” Grab these words, “Because as He is, so also are we in this world.” That statement has radically changed my life. It’s real important to catch the tenses here. The Bible says “As Jesus is” so that’s right now.
01:01:29 Think about how He is right now. He’s not worried; He’s not stressed; He’s not panicked; He’s not scared, okay? He’s not trying to get right with the Father. “As He is right now,” the Bible says, “so are we in this world.” So here’s your statement for the day: you’ve been born again. If you’ve given your life to Jesus Christ, if you know you’ve passed from death unto life, the Scripture said, “As He is right now, so are you and I in this world.” So here’s your statement of faith: As He is now, so am I.
01:02:03 Write that down. As He is now, so am I. That changes everything about your self-portrait; how you see yourself. Jesus isn’t insecure trying to get secure. He’s not fearful trying to get bold. He’s not bitter trying to be full of forgiveness. He is everything the Father wants Him to be. As He is now, so are we in this world. As He is now, so am I.
01:02:31 Quit seeing Heaven as you’re crossing the finish line of perfection. The moment you were transferred from death unto life; the moment you were transferred into the kingdom of His dear Son, you became, in the mind and the eyes of God the Father, just the same as He sees His Son Jesus. You’re perfect; you’re holy because of what the blood of Jesus has done in your life. Now you and I still have failures and mistakes. We understand that, but that doesn’t change your position with God.
01:03:00 Your condition is getting better and better, but your position is this: as He is now, so am I. Father release that into every person listening to me right now who’s born again. We rejoice in that today in Jesus’ name. Now say that right now with me: as He is now, so am I. Now let’s go make today a glorious day in Jesus’ name. Say it over and over again: as He is now, so am I.
01:03:33 [END OF VIDEO]
The Bible gives us this incredible promise in 1 John 4:17: “…as He is, so also are we in this world.” That statement can radically change your life. In this video teaching, Dr. Mike Smalley provides step-by-step guidance for growing in faith by learning who you are in Christ.
Each lesson provides key foundational principles to help you grow through believing in your heart what the Bible says about you, and then declaring those things with your mouth.
Lessons include knowing who you are as a child of God; understanding what it means to make Jesus Lord of your life; having confidence that Christ dwells within you and is always with you; coming to a realization that you are complete through your relationship with Jesus; growing in your understanding that you are a joint heir with Jesus; and walking in the favor of God.
