Transcript Building your life on God’s faithfulnessFew principles of the Christian life are as foundational and essential as the subject of Trusting God. There’s a wonderful old hymn that says, “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.”
You see, your Heavenly Father wants you to be happy and fulfilled in this life, and then to experience an incredible life with Him in Heaven for all eternity. But from beginning to end, this is meant to be a life of trust and obedience.
Do you know what the first question in the Bible is? It’s not a trick question. You can read it for yourself in Genesis 3:1. The devil appeared to Eve in the form of a serpent and asked, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
Satan’s question to the first woman was meant to plant seeds of doubt—to cause her to wonder if God was really telling them the truth and wonder if He truly had their best interests at heart.
Friend, perhaps you’ve been dealing with seeds of doubt in your own life lately. Maybe you’re dealing with some challenge in your health, finances, or relationships, and you’re finding it hard to trust God. And because of the doubts that have crept into your mind, your sense of peace has been replaced by fear, anxiety, or depression.
Well, I have good news for you today. Your Heavenly Father is absolutely trustworthy, and the devil is a liar! God loves you so much that He sent His Son to die in your place, so you can have a personal relationship with Him.
Today I pray you will be able to say, as King David did in Psalm 13:5, that you’ve trusted in God’s steadfast love, making it the very foundation of your life. People may let you down. Possessions may let you down, but your Heavenly Father says in Hebrews 13:5 that He will never leave you nor forsake you.
I encourage you to stop right now and open your heart fully to the Lord. Tell Him what you’ve been going through, and even be honest with Him about any doubts you’ve been wrestling with. Tell Him, “Father, I want to trust You with my whole heart! I want to see Your great love and faithfulness! Take my life and make it everything You want it to be!”
When you pray a prayer like that, you can know that your best days are still ahead. God will turn things around for you and start you on the pathway to the life of your dreams.
God bless you.
