Find Victory in Your Prayer Life

Many Christians are satisfied with only praying in church on Sundays and saying “grace” at the dinner table. If this describes your prayer life, God wants to take you deeper. He wants to take you to a place where you can receive His favor and live in the victory of His promises.

Of course, the devil will fight you on your journey into a deeper prayer life. He knows the awesome power you have in Jesus’ name. If he can discourage you from praying, he’s neutralized much of the effectiveness of the Lord’s Favor.

Don’t let the devil or the hectic pace of your life distract you from a powerful, daily time of prayer. You’re encouraged to set a time of day or night when you can be alone with God without the distractions of daily living whirling around in your mind.

For some of you, this may be the first thing in the morning. For others, it may be the last thing before bed. It doesn’t matter when you do it . . . the key is to make a daily habit to meet with God.

Defeating the Enemy

Many well-meaning believers have permitted the devil to gain a foothold in their lives. He’s marched in, taken over, and claimed his territory with hardly a struggle. Recognize what is taking place. Since God is your ally, and because you’ve been diligent in your prayer life, you can bravely confront your adversary.

In other words, since Satan has a strategy to wreak havoc on your life, you too must have a strategy to effectively vanquish him. You see, you cannot be a one-man army and fight the devil alone; you need the Lord’s help.

Christ can free you from the chains and bondage of Satan. He promises, “I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

Take your worries, fears, and doubts to the Lord in prayer. You don’t have to be intimidated by Satan. On the authority of God you can tell the devil, “Stay out of my life,” and he will take flight. And with that, you will be in a place to receive the Lord’s Favor and live in the victory of His promises!
