One of the promises of the Bible is that God will dwell with His people – and it is signified with the name “Immanuel,” which in Hebrew means “God with us.”
This promise given through the prophet Isaiah was first fulfilled when Jesus came and lived among men. Then just as He ascended into Heaven, Jesus instructed His disciples to “”…tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high” (Luke 24:49). It was on the Day of Pentecost that the promised power came with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Church.
If you are a believer, the Holy Spirit dwells within you as Immanuel. Paul writes, “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?” (1 Cor. 6:19)
As we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost today, we can rejoice that God is truly with us through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. You are never alone. God is as close to you as a whisper. Whatever you need, just call out to him in prayer. He hears you and He will bring an answer.
I am praying that you will experience the power of the Holy Spirit today!
