Christmas is such a wonderful time of year. As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and center our attention on Him, we bring our lives baChrdddddck into His perspective …
JESUS our Lord, who left the majesty and grandeur of Heaven to be born in a lowly stable surrounded by animals
JESUS our Savior, who chose to grow up in the humble home of a carpenter
JESUS our Redeemer, who sacrificed His life, so we could spend eternity with Him
What a great time to celebrate!
However, I realize many of our partners struggle to find God’s joy and peace during this time of year. Because of financial pressures, strained relationships, health problems, or just the busyness of the holidays, Christmas can be a season of stress, pain, or depression rather than joy.
That’s why I want to share this special message on why Christmas is a time of miracles – an amazing season of victory even amid trials and opposition.
The First Christmas
While we tend to romanticize the first Christmas as a time of serenity and joy, Jesus was born into difficult and uncertain times – much like we face today. His family also faced political upheaval, economic stress, and social ostracism.
Yet the powerful angelic message from that first Christmas still rings true today:
Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people (Luke 2:10 NASB).
If you’re facing challenging situations this holiday season, you’re not alone. But you don’t need to be afraid or worry! Jesus can penetrate your dark days with “good news” and “great joy,” just as He did on the first Christmas.
Regardless of the circumstances around you, you can REJOICE – for in the Lord’s presence is “fullness of joy” (Psalm 16:11).
The Greatest Gift of All
God doesn’t promise we’ll have an easy life, but He DOES promise to be with us throughout life’s struggles. In many ways, that’s what Christmas is all about:
They shall call His name Immanuel … “GOD WITH US” (Matthew 1:23).
God came down to earth in the person of Jesus Christ. He wrapped Himself in the form of flesh and blood and was born as a baby in a simple manger in a stable. He came to bring forgiveness and salvation, shedding His blood to pay the penalty for our sins and restore us to a right relationship with the Father.
I’m sure none of us could imagine such a great sacrifice, yet God loved us so much He was willing to send His only Son to die for us, so that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life (John 3:16). That kind of love is beyond our comprehension.
So, no matter what your circumstances may be this Christmas season, you can joyously celebrate the greatest gift of all … the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Let His Joy Break Through
Often God breaks through and sends us a ray of hope when we’re in our darkest hour. A heavenly choir of angels appeared to the shepherds at night, a time when life can seem its darkest:
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:13-14).
While the shepherds were accustomed to long, dark nights as they cared for their sheep, perhaps you are facing a dark night of another kind today – in your health, finances, or relationships. If so, God wants to break through with His light, dispelling your fear and bringing you good news and great joy in Him.
God’s purpose in this breakthrough is to bless you and make you a blessing to others (Genesis 12:2). The light of the Gospel began in Bethlehem, but it didn’t stop there. The angels declared that it would shine around the world “for all the people” (Luke 2:10 NASB).
Do you have a passion today to help fulfill this heavenly mandate – to fill the whole earth with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14)? With every fiber of my being, I’m committed to seeing the message that began in a manger in Bethlehem transmitted …
… on every continent
… in every major language group
… through every form of technology
Thank you, Inspiration Partners, for joining our ministry on this exciting journey to reach the lost for God’s Kingdom and His glory!
A Special Season of Giving
Christmas is a time of giving. God gave us His only Son as a seed that would fall into the ground and die (John 12:24) – and then spring up and offer eternal life to countless people throughout the centuries.
Every time you sow financial seeds into God’s Kingdom through Inspiration Ministries, you’re offering this salvation and eternal life to the world. Thanks to your faithful partnership, we’re sending the message of joy and peace in Jesus Christ to a potential worldwide audience of over 1.2 billion people a day! People in more than 200 nations can receive the light of the Gospel through our TV broadcasts, websites, and social media outreaches.
Thanks to your financial seeds, we’ve almost reached our goal to impact four million NEW people with the Gospel by the end of this year!
But as much as I’m thrilled by how God is using this ministry we share together, I’m also aware of how much more there is to do. Almost seven billion people are alive today, and more than TWO BILLION of them still have not heard the name of Jesus Christ even once. Every second, two people pass into eternity – over 150,000 people a day! Most of them die without a saving knowledge of Christ.
As you celebrate Christmas this year, I encourage you to present a special gift to the Lord – a financial seed to reach those who need to hear the Gospel!
I’m Praying for You
This holiday season, I am praying for you to experience God’s wonderful breakthrough as you celebrate the birth of His Son Jesus. Instead of feeling isolated, tired, or depressed, you can be empowered with His amazing victory and love!
When you hear “Joy to the World” sung in church services or shopping malls this Christmas season, remember this: God not only wants to bring His joy and peace to the world – He wants to bring His joy and peace to YOUR world!
I pray you’ll have a blessed Christmas, filled with the peace, presence, and provision of the Lord.
