Your Potential

“In the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.” Matthew 7:2 NASB

What do you expect God to accomplish through you? Many Believers, trusting in themselves, develop a kind of defeatist attitude and seem satisfied with less than all He has prepared for them. They don’t really believe that His promises apply to them, so they don’t expect to receive His full blessings.

But Jesus actually taught that, to a large extent, we actually set the standards by which we will be evaluated and we’ll be measured by the standards and expectations we establish!

The Bible tells us God has given us everything we need to succeed. He has given us His Word and His Spirit. We can know His will, receive His guidance, and experience fulfillment. Yet we each make individual decisions that determine so much of how our lives unfold. How much we trust Him. Will we listen to voices in the world, or fill our minds with His Word? Will we rely on our human understanding and abilities, or realize the unlimited dimension available to us through the Spirit? Will we commit our way to Him and trust Him to direct our lives?

Think about how these things apply to you. Are you willing to believe God and receive all His blessings? Will you be bold and courageous, or timid and fearful? How much do you really believe His Word? Are you willing to step out in faith, or plagued by doubt and worry?

Don’t limit God or put a cap on what He can do for you and through you. Remember the glorious promises He has given you!

Prayer: Father, I believe that nothing is impossible with You. Forgive me for doubting You, or setting limits on what You can accomplish through me. Thank You! In Jesus’ name. Amen.
