Who Am I?

How did Moses react when God announced He would rescue His people from bondage? Perhaps his heart was initially filled with excitement, but everything changed when God said it was Moses who would lead the people out of Egypt. Suddenly, he was overwhelmed with doubt, wondering aloud, “Who am I?” To him, the task seemed impossible.

Moses stubbornly refused to believe God, even when the Lord reassured him that he had been prepared well for this task. Moses provided a series of excuses: He didn’t have the right skills…he couldn’t speak clearly…no one would believe him…he was doomed to failure. Yet, after God responded to every excuse, Moses finally agreed to go. We know the outcome—God kept His promises and used Moses to lead His people out of Egypt and to the Promised Land.

All this time, God saw Moses not as a man of weakness, but as a vessel He had called, prepared, and equipped. He wanted Moses to realize he was serving the great “I AM” (v. 14). Moses may have been just a man, but he served the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of miracles who could do all things.

Today, this same God has a special calling on your life. He is with you, right now. His power is available to you! He has prepared and equipped you to serve Him and fulfill your destiny, in ways you might not understand.

Put aside doubts and trust in Him. Nothing is impossible, if you believe! You serve the great “I AM.” His Word is true. Be faithful, and let Him use you to accomplish great things for His Kingdom.
