War Against the Saints

War Against the Saints

Some Christians seem surprised when they experience problems. When this happens, we need to remember that the Bible tells us that we all may encounter “various trials” (James 1:2). Paul described how believers might be afflicted, perplexed, persecuted, and struck down (2 Corinthians 4:8-9). Revelation describes a time when the beast will be given permission to make war against the saints and will even be able to “overcome them.”

Yes, Satan is at war with the saints. But the Bible reminds us that he already is a defeated foe. Jesus is the victor! God is sovereign. He is our rock, fortress, deliverer, and shield (Psalm 18:1-2). We can depend upon Him and trust Him to guide and protect us. We might go through short-term problems, but we need to remember that we are “more than conquerors” through Christ (Romans 8:37). These challenges remind us of the importance of faith. We should remember that Jesus promised blessings to those who overcome and persevere (Revelation 2:7).

Today, remember that Satan is at war with you! When you go through trials and problems, don’t despair or give up, but fill your life with praise! Use the authority God has given you. Obey His Word and seek to grow stronger in the Spirit. Don’t be weak and timid, but be bold and confident, trusting in Him and always persevering to the end.

Rejoice! Through Christ, you are more than a conqueror!
