Too Difficult?

It was a devastating time. Jerusalem was in shambles. Its walls were broken down. The Temple had been destroyed. Many people were in exile. But the prophet Zechariah announced that God would bring remarkable changes. He would restore His people and call them back home. The Temple would be rebuilt. God promised to “return to Zion and…dwell in the midst of Jerusalem.” It would be a place of vitality and energy.

To some, this seemed impossible. However, God asked them if anything was “too difficult” for Him.

He asked them to think about His actions throughout history. They needed to remember that He was the Creator, who spoke the world into being. Who parted the Red Sea and delivered the Israelites from the mighty Egyptian army. Who fed them in the wilderness when there was no food. Who sent His angels to defeat their enemies.

Today, it can be easy to look at our challenges and consider them “too difficult.” To doubt that God’s promises really are true. To feel that our problems cannot be solved. But His Word reminds us that nothing is impossible with Him. That all things are possible.

Today, banish doubt from your life, and fill your heart and mind with God’s Word. Confess His promises and believe that they are true, regardless of how things appear to your eyes. Have faith that God can do anything. Have the boldness simply to believe that nothing is impossible with Him. That nothing is too difficult. Nothing!
