Restoration

The stresses of modern life can take a dramatic toll on our minds and emotions. How easily we can become tired and weary, worn down and stretched beyond our capacity to cope. At these moments we can feel the impact of decisions we’ve made. We can realize the consequences of our human weaknesses and limits of our abilities. These also can be the by-product of spiritual opposition.

However, the Bible reminds us that God can use life experiences to teach us new things. He may be working on us, allowing us to go through times of stretching and testing, seeking to toughen, refine, or purify us.

Whatever experiences you face, remember the example of Job, a man who seemed to lose everything: his possessions, family, and respect. But, after a time of testing, God restored everything. In fact, “the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before” (v. 10).

If you are going through a time of testing or feel that you are stretched beyond your capabilities, remember that God has not abandoned you. In every situation, seek to be faithful to the work that He has called you to do. Stand strong on the promises in His Word.

No matter what you face, don’t be filled with despair or doubt. And don’t give up. Based on the authority of the Bible, you can be sure that God has not forgotten you. Continue to stay faithful, sowing seeds into His Kingdom, and expecting a harvest.

Be a good steward of the resources you have been given. Seek to serve Him, completing the assignments you have been given. Trust Him to bless you, restore anything you might have lost, and reward you for your faithfulness.
