Hidden Factors

Our minds typically focus on tangible things we can touch and see. However, in spiritual matters, we must walk by faith. This means believing God when the evidence makes faith seem unrealistic, and when others think we’re foolish.

As Paul described, we are not to look “to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18).

The Israelites faced this challenge when they were departing Egypt, pursued by Pharaoh’s army. But God kept His word and did what seemed impossible, delivering them and completely destroying their enemies. They were victorious “by faith” (Hebrews 11:29).

This is the kind of confidence in God that helps us live in victory. That leads to answers to prayer and miracles.

This was central to the message of the prophet Haggai. Many in his audience knew about God but didn’t see results. What was the problem? They had the wrong priorities. They focused on their own pleasures while ignoring the things of God. He reminded them that He was trying to get their attention. That He was ready to bless them abundantly if they sought first His Kingdom.

Today, remember these principles. Seek to develop your relationship with God. Apply His Word. Be sensitive to His Spirit. Trust Him to produce more fruit as you walk by faith and draw closer to Him.
