More Giants

Inspiration MinistriesBy Inspiration Ministries2 Minutes

David emerged as a hero when he killed Goliath, the giant. As a result, David was asked to lead the army. He “went out wherever Saul sent him, and prospered; and Saul set him over the men of war” (1 Samuel 18:5). Under David’s command, Israel experienced victory after victory. Yet Israel never was completely freed from threats. And even after he killed Goliath, giants were not fully eliminated from the land.

David and his men learned that there were many giants and other fierce enemies in the land. They understood they would face waves of problems. Ongoing battles would occur, and David’s army saw they must remain alert and ready to fight.

This is a picture of the spiritual warfare that we face…each day! We may feel relieved after winning a victory over the enemy, but we cannot let down our guard. There still are other giants in the land. The devil and his demons never stop attacking or looking for an advantage over us, and we can face defeat if we aren’t spiritually prepared.

Today, remember that there are many giants in the land. But in the name of Jesus, and through the power of the Holy Spirit, you have authority over all the power of the enemy. Even so, you still can be attacked, harassed, and even defeated…if you aren’t prepared.

Make sure that you stay alert and on guard. Remember that “your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8). Stay vigilant, armed, and ready for battle.
