You Are the Answer to Jesus’ Prayer

Do you believe God answered the prayers of Jesus? You undoubtedly agree that if God was going to answer the prayers of anyone (and He does!), He would surely answer Jesus. That is some serious GOOD NEWS that changes everything! You see, before Jesus went to the cross, He asked our Father to help you and me complete the mission He started: revealing God to the world (John 17:6-19).

Imagine that: Your life mission is delivering glory to the world – revealing the excellence and majesty of God to everyone you encounter. That’s the job Jesus asked Father God to give you, and that prayer was answered. When you received Jesus as your Savior, you both became and received the answer to Jesus’ prayer.

Friend, you are chosen by God, a soldier equipped by God, marching in Jesus’ victorious army. You are God’s answer to Jesus’ prayer – and you are fully equipped to succeed in your mission! Do you believe that? Your belief – your faith – is critical to completing your assignment. You must know your task and how God has prepared you for your mission. Then, you must live out what you know!

Jesus knew exactly what you and I needed to do the job He requested for us. It’s what He prayed for … and it’s what God provided. Basically, Jesus said, “I’ve lived in a way that showed them You, Father. They believe. Now, make it so they can live the same way I did. Protect them from the evil one, and separate them from the world with Your words.” Then Jesus rejoiced, knowing we would be able to enjoy the same love He lived in and relied on.

Do you still believe God answered Jesus’ prayer? You know He did … but when doubt creeps in, the struggle with our faith becomes real, doesn’t it? The enemy loves to sow seeds of doubt. It is his primary tool to diminish your faith. The key to your victory is expecting God to do what He says He will do. You have to take God at His Word.

When I look around the world, it seems clear to me that many either don’t know they are on a mission – or they don’t know they already possess everything they need for a successful mission. I want to change that! Let’s explore some of the great things God did when He answered Jesus’ prayer:

• He made us, perfectly designed for our mission. 2 Corinthians 5:7; Ephesians 2:10
• He gave grace that canceled all condemnation. Romans 8:1-2; 1 Corinthians 11:32
• He provided everything we need to WIN. Hebrews 13:21; 2 Peter 1:3
• He outfitted us for battle. Ephesians 6:10-15; James 4:7
• He gave us HIS strength. Matthew 19:26; Philippians 4:13
• He promised – guaranteed – victory. 1 Corinthians 15:57; 2 Corinthians 2:14
• He conquered the enemy. Colossians 2:15; 1 John 5:4

Jesus’ prayer delivered amazing promises to you. Every promise made by God is “yes” in Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20). Those promises come from the very glory of God you have been commissioned to bring to the world. Those same promises allow you to share in God’s very nature (2 Peter 1:3-5). You are a conqueror because you are loved by God (Romans 8:37), and you can help others live in victory too.

My prayer for you today is that God will give you a vision of your position and provision. I pray that God will flood your heart and life with the light of His love, so others will see and know Him! Bring the glory to everyone around you today and walk with them in victorious freedom.
