Power to Live Like Jesus

We’re moving together on Strengthen Your Walk so that we can come into everything that the Lord has for us. This series is designed to build you into becoming greater, more effective kingdom citizens by learning how to walk out the kingdom life that God has blessed us with. And He’s done such a great thing in doing that. It all began when He gave us His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. And after Jesus was crucified, dead; He was buried and then He was resurrected.

But after He appears back on the earth after His resurrection, He spends 40 days with His disciples; about 500 people that were believing and holding on to the things of Jesus. Now there were only 120 left in the Upper Room so somewhere between 120 and 500. There were 380 people who moved away from Jesus after His resurrection. It’s almost hard to imagine, isn’t it? But it’s what happens often in ministry. But the Lord spends 40 days talking to them about the kingdom of God.

And then He says to them in Acts, the first chapter and the eighth verse. He says, “For the Holy Spirit will come upon you and you will receive power to be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth.” Kingdom living is about being a witness unto Jesus, not just talking about your transformation and your conversion.

And that’s very important. People need to hear that story, but Jesus says you’ll be witnesses of Me, not just talking about Me but you’ll be demonstrating that things that I did. That’s a part of our kingdom living where we raise the dead; we cleanse the lepers; we lay hands on the sick and they be healed and recovered. And we walk in the signs and wonders and miracles of God. All of these things come by the power of God. They come from the kingdom of God. They’re supernatural things that the Lord has put in place for all of us to tap into. And I’m encouraging you to begin to live in the supernatural and to begin to expect the supernatural in your life.

The Lord’s made it clear to us that “I will pour out My spirit.” It wasn’t just a prophecy of Joel for those times, it’s a prophecy for right now. And so wherever you are, you can extend yourself to God. You can open your heart to God and say “Lord, I want to receive more power in You. I want the power to live the life that Jesus lived. I want to demonstrate the life that Jesus lived.” Kingdom living is so important, but the way of the kingdom is not in words but it is in power. It’s in demonstration.

And so the Lord is calling you into a place of being a demonstrator of His will; being a demonstrator of His mind; being a demonstrator of everything that He stood for: His nature, His character, His servitude and His power. That’s all for you. And so I encourage you to continue to ascend to the hill of the Lord and to continue to stay in your upper room and wait for the power of God to come upon you; power that will allow you to live a life beyond anything that you could ever imagine.

If you want to be strengthened, then be strengthened by the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s there for you as a believer. Tap into it and watch Him do exceedingly and abundantly above and through and with you according to that power that works in you. Your kingdom living is at hand. God bless you. Peace!
