During the recent economic downturn in the world, many people were deeply affected. Millions suffered job losses. Homes were lost through foreclosure. Cars were repossessed by the lenders. Children were displaced from schools when their parents had to relocate.
In these difficult times, many could identify with Psalm 142:4 (AMP), which says: “Look on the right hand [the point of attack] and see; for there is no man who knows me [to appear for me]. Refuge has failed me and I have no way to flee; no man cares for my life or my welfare.”
But thanks be to God, as believers we have a Savior available, one who sits high but looks low. The Message translation of Hebrews 4:15 says about Jesus, “He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.”
This is wonderful news. Yes, there is much distress in the world, but we have a Savior who offers to help us. Even if we suffer losses at times…
God wants you to discover His amazing recover plan!
Psalm 34:10 promises that “those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” But in order to seek God and approach Him for any kind of help, we must recognize that He truly exists and is a rewarder of those who sincerely seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). We must draw near to the Lord through prayer and worship, declaring His Word and reminding Him of what He’s already promised.
God honors His Word, and it promises that a payday is on the way. Jeremiah 51:56 describes the Lord as “the God of recompense.” Yes, He’s a rewarder—the Great Compensator. Now this can be good or bad, depending upon how you are living. Every action, whether positive or negative, will be rewarded.
In the same way, your words will impact your outcomes, either positively or negatively. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue,” and Proverbs 12:14 tells us that “a man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth.”
You see, your words are a key part of God’s recovery plan for your life. You must not allow negative words from your mouth to hold you in the grip of poverty, sickness, or strife. Declare only what you would like to manifest in your life. If you don’t want something to happen, then don’t say it—not even jokingly.
Another requirement for receiving a turnaround from God is to live uprightly before Him. Psalm 84:11 promises, “No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.” This means, whether you are at home, on the job, at the mall, or wherever you are—at all times—your lifestyle should agree with His Word.
Finally, if you are seeking a financial breakthrough for losses you have suffered in the past, you must learn the powerful principle of seedtime and harvest. Plain and simple, in order to receive a financial harvest from God, you must sow financial seeds.
If you want a harvest of corn, what would you plant? Corn seed, of course. In the same way, if you need a crop of money, you need to plant some money seeds! Ask of the Lord, and He will direct your giving, showing you good ground and instructing you in how much to give.
I’m convinced that it’s possible to live in this world without experiencing all of its negative consequences. Even if you’re suffering from poor choices you’ve made in the past, the Lord can turn things around.
Remember: God loves you. He is willing to repay your losses with abundance and ensure that whatever the enemy has stolen will be repaid in full.
Your part is to call upon His name, pray, and apply faith to the situation through His Word. Your steps of faith and obedience will move the hand of God on your behalf.
