A Christian’s Victory Key

If you are wanting to live the most intimate, prayer-enriched, vibrant and victorious faith-walk with Jesus, I have a key that will open that door for you. Jesus said, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me” (John 14:21). If we love the Lord, we will do His will. This is also true with human relationships—our love for someone is expressed by a desire to please them and do their will.

Jesus added a wonderful promise to this verse: “And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” If we want to experience more of the Father’s love, blessings, and victory, the message is clear: We must seek to do His will.

Around 2,000 years ago, God expressed His great love for us through the cross, and now we love Him “because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). He took up the cross for us, and now we take up our cross and show our love for Him by doing His will.

What is God’s will? His will was clearly expressed in Jesus’ final commission to His disciples—to “go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).

Of course, it is also God’s will that we pray, that we worship, and that we give financially to His work. But it’s much more difficult to share the Gospel with strangers. Evangelism often frightens us, because we are afraid of looking foolish. But it shows our obedience and tests the depth of our love for God and for humanity.

An Urgent Warning

A woman’s car broke down late one moonless night in an unfamiliar area. She was afraid, so she wound the vehicle’s windows up tight, locked the doors, and turned on the car radio to keep her company. She decided it would be wise to wait until the morning light before going for help.

A short time later, a frantic man appeared at her window and began to yell at her. Frightened, she gestured for him to go away. He left for a moment, but then returned seconds later with a rock in his hand. To her horrified protests, he smashed the window of her car and pulled her out. As they fell to the ground, a fast-moving train slammed into her car, causing it to burst into flames.

Like the man with the rock in his hand, we may look like raving lunatics as we frantically try to warn this sinful world that they are in terrible danger. The train of God’s moral law is merciless, and their ignorance of the imminent peril doesn’t make it disappear.

As Christians we must take courage and show our love for God and humanity by warning people that God means what He says about sin. The fruit of such obedience will be a victorious Christian life. The question is, how much do you want that? Trust and obey, my friend. Be bold in telling people about Jesus.
