Celebrating the Freedom to Worship

Celebrating the Freedom to Worship

A recent article in Newsweek Magazine reported that the persecution and genocide of Christians across the world is worse today “than at any time in history.”

According to the U.S. State Department, Christians in more than 60 countries face persecution from their governments or surrounding neighbors simply because of their belief in Jesus.

Here in America we often take our freedom of religion for granted along with the many other liberties we enjoy.

As we celebrate Independence Day, let’s take time to thank God for the freedom we have to worship Him and to live our lives as we choose.

Would you also take a moment to say a prayer for persecuted Christians around the world?

The Bible tells us: “For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required” (Luke 12:48). In America we have been given the precious gift of freedom. I encourage you to take full advantage of the liberties you have been given to share the gospel with others around the world.

May God bless you and your family as you celebrate this Independence Day.
